Synopsis
For five years, Esther endured Carl's abuse—his cheating, his violence, the death of their daughter that he caused. On their fifth anniversary, during another violent confrontation, Carl dies accidentally. Esther buries him in the backyard, numb and broken. She falls asleep. Next morning, Carl appears alive—gentle, caring, exactly the man she married. His personality doesn't match the monster she buried. Esther questions everything: Did he return from the dead? Is this a stranger wearing her husband's face? Or is something far more terrifying happening? Some husbands don't stay buried. Some nightmares wear familiar smiles.
